This is the name of David's & my adventure page. Since it was first done 100 years ago & I will be the first female seaplane pilot to do it, that's how we came up with the name. If you are on Facebook, please like the page, comment, & share it to your friends. This page focuses on David Geers's & my (Cathy Babis) adventure & our shared goal of promoting STEM education (science, technical, engineering, & math) as well as diversity in all aviation careers. Anyone can post on the page. I also plan on making some short videos relating to our preparations as well as on the trip. If anyone wants to join me/us on a recorded zoom meeting for an interview where you will know the questions in advance, I can make that happen. I'm thinking not longer than 5 minutes. Cheers!

Sports Aircraft Association of Australia is about to announce the dates for AusFly next year. I can tell you that the event will be held at Wentworth - right on the Murray River - on 22, 23 and 24 March 2024. I flew out there last week to check out amphibious landing options - and there are some really fantastic stretches of Murray and Darling river that I think would work a treat. Can I get any interest in a formal contingent to 'soft-launch' the journey? We can splash-and-go on the river before landing at Wentworth for the event. We will get our own cordoned off area for the Sea Planes and it would be a great opportunity to generate more interest before we set off a week (or so) later. Some safety items you may wish to consider Taking on the round Australia trip. A spare phone charged and sealed in a waterproof bag container (Telstra sim) Obviously first-aid kit Flares Insect repellent (yes this is safety equipment) Tools and Spares A can of puncture repair Spot/Garmin tracking device Extra water and emergency provisions Good quality rope and tie-down pegs I'm sure I've missed a few items so please feel free to add to this list.
